Persona 4 episode 5 REVIEW

Good times...

hahahaha

Not in the video game

My Thoughts

Well now we are introduced to the social links. I loved this episode and how it summarized two social links into one story. In the video game, I chose the track team instead of the basketball team, and I kinda like the way how the story of the social links panned out here. Although it remained almost the same (except for some omissions here and there), but the way it was told wasn't rushed and felt natural. This made me remember all those social link stories within the game and how each was genuine and entertaining. By the way, social links pertain to the different Arcanas Yu will obtain from different bonds he forms with other people, which will help him have more powerful personas in game or in anime, but here in the anime its more of like a side story. It's a nice break from the mystery surrounding the Midnight Channel. I know those who played the game will disagree with me but the summarizing of the social links is really necessary as they are so many to fit in this show or else nothing will be left for the main plot (and the character introductions are not even done yet 0_0).

It was also a nice touch to add the golden stars when the characters feel happy just like in the game. There are also some new scenes that I didn't get to see in game like the slapping part of the two girls.

Overall, this episode was a nice side story to the main plot and really made me smile on how unique the Persona series really is. However, if you didn't play the game and wondered what is this filler episode gonna hope to achieve, well think of it as a reminder that even teenage heroes with powers have their school life to worry too, unlike other shows where kids just skip school altogether for the sake of saving the world.

Overall Mood after watching: Smiley smiley =)
